Back to work! Here are September’s challenges and events worth mentioning:
Horizon Europe Cascading Challenges :
The main objective of the FOODITY project is to create a European ecosystem of digital solutions that will contribute to a more sustainable and healthier food and nutrition system. An international consortium of 3 actors (SMEs and startups, research and technology organisations and universities, social innovation actors and educational organisations) is needed. The call will evaluate proposals for solutions that are currently at TRLs 4 to 6, but may extend up to TRL 7.
There are 3 focal areas + one open call:
Personalisation of food and nutrition
Sustainable food systems
Shopping experiences
Grant opportunity: €150,000 – €187,500

SURE 5.0 Acceleration Programme 2
The aim of the SURE5.0 Acceleration Programme 2 is to help increase the sustainability, resilience and human-centredness of production processes. Support will be provided in two phases (1. Assess & Recommend, 2. Business Transformation & Resilience) through a variety of tailored services and funding based on your specific technology, business and HR needs. The call is open to SMEs in the mobility, transport and automotive (MTA), aerospace, defence and electronics manufacturing sectors.
Opportunity to receive €10,000 in Phase 1 and up to €50,000 in Phase 2
Three cut-offs: – Oct 25, 2023- Jan 3, 2024 – Feb 28, 2024
Competition:
CEE Startup Network Initiative
The competition is open to startups with a project plan at the idea, prototype or first paying customer stage. Startups can get:
€40k in prize money (3 prizes: €20k, €12k and €8k)
Contacts to experts in 3 regions in 3 countries (Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia)
Customized services to expand your business
Links to corporate partners with innovation challenges within thematic vouchers.

Events:
Startup Weekend is an event that takes place regularly in more than 150 countries. During 54 hours, teams of participants (mostly composed on-site) have time to take their idea from ideation to a presentable project or prototype. The event will take place in Žilina on 13.-15. October 2023.
INOFEST is a festival of innovation, which for the fourth year is organized with its members and partners by the association INOVATO, which brings together companies, innovators, experts and individuals from different areas and sectors. INOFEST is one of the most successful innovation events in Slovakia. We are very pleased that we will be part of the 4th edition of INOFEST for the first time. Come and support us on 26.-27.09.2023 in M Arena in Prešov.
